Game Night Recipes - Chicken and Cheese Burger Sliders

A yummy, filling slider for game nights with friends and food.

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 1.75 cup(s) flour
  • 1.5 tsp instant yeast
  • 1.5 tsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 0.25 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 egg(s)
  • 25 g butter or ghee

For the filling

  • 1 cup shredded roast chicken
  • 12 slices cheddar cheese
  • BBQ sauce, ketchup or hot sauce
  • mayonnaise
  • shredded lettuce

Directions

  1. In a bowl: add flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, 1 egg, butter and milk and mix well.
  2. Gradually add water and keep kneading to form a soft dough. Knead for approximately 8-10 minutes.
  3. Place the dough on a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave it in a warm, dry place until it doubles in size. Approximately 1 hour.
  4. Once the dough has doubled in size, deflate it and move it to a floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal parts. Form small dough balls and place them on a greased baking tray with a 1-inch distance in between. Place the balls so that when they double up again, it will touch each other slightly. Cover again and wait until it doubles in size.
  5. Once done, beat the other egg and brush over the buns. Add sesame seeds on top of the buns.
  6. Bake 220°C for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Once baked, let it cool a few minutes.
  8. The buns should have been baked touching each other so now you will have a sheet of mini buns. Slice across from the middle through the buns in one piece.
  9. Remove top part, and across the bottom half add your preferred sauce, top with shredded chicken, layer it with cheese slices and lettuce.
  10. On the inside of the top half of the bun, apply mayonnaise and sandwich it over the assembled bottom layer.
  11. Brush some melted butter over the sheet of buns again, and put it back in the oven for about 5 minutes, until the cheese melts and everything comes together.
  12. Once removed from the oven, cut the buns to separate and serve.
