K's Red Penne Pasta

This recipe uses processed chicken but proper cooked chicken can be used if preferred.



For 4 Person(s)

  • 1 packet Penne pasta
  • 1 bottle Pasta Roma garlic sauce
  • 1 pack Oyster Mushrooms chopped
  • 1 sprig Celery, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch Fresh basil leaves
  • 4 cloves Garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 500 g Chicken bacon or Chicken Ham, chopped
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper


  1. Boil penne as instructed on the packet.
  2. Drain and save the starchy water. If the pasta is dry when you're ready to mix with the sauce pour the starchy water over it to restore moisture.
  3. In a saucepan add olive oil - warm it for about two minutes.
  4. Add onions and garlic till cooked not browned. The onions should be pinkish.
  5. Add chopped mushrooms and the chopped spring of celery  and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. In a frying  pan add some olive oil and cook the chicken bacon or chicken ham till crispy and keep aside.
  7. To the mushroom and celery mixture add the Pasta Roma sauce . You will need to dilute it with a half cup of water.  

    Add pasta and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Now add the crispy bacon or ham and cook for another five minutes .
  9. Take it off the fire.
  10. Add chopped basil leaves and serve with garlic toast.
