K's Teriyaki Rice
Not that easy

  • 1 kg Chicken winglets (approx. 30)
  • 0.75 tbsp Ma's Minced Ginger
  • 4 tbsp Dad's teriyaki sauce
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 0.5 tbsp Honey
  • Salt to taste
  • Toasted sesame seeds


  • Basil leaves
  • Pickled ginger (optional)


  1. Marinate the chicken winglets with all ingredients except sesame seeds overnight.
  2. In a pan lay out the marinated chicken winglets and cook till the sauce has almost dried out. This should take 15 to 20 mins.
  3. Remove winglets from fire and roll in toasted sesame seeds.
  4. Serve with hot steamed sticky rice (you can buy this at Colpetty market ).
  5. Place rice in a bowl, pour sauce over rice and place chicken winglets over this. Garnish with a sprig of basil leaves and some pickled ginger.
