K's Chili Cheese Fries

  • 500 g French fries, fried and not salted
  • 500 g Chicken, shredded or Beef, minced
  • 1 cup Shredded cabbage & carrots
  • 1 Medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ma's grated garlic
  • 1 tsp Ma's grated ginger
  • 1 tsp Ma's coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Ma's cumin powder
  • 0.5 tsp Ma's chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 handful Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • Salt to taste


  1. Fry the French fries and leave aside without salting them.
  2. In a pan sauté the onion,  ginger and garlic till golden brown.
  3. Add chicken/beef and vegetables and cook for about 5 to 7  minutes.
  4. Now add the dry spices and ketchup and cook another few minutes until the flavour has been absorbed by the mix.
  5. Remove from fire and pour over the French fries.
  6. Add grated cheese and chopped coriander leaves.
  7. Place this dish in microwave till cheese melts. 

Recipe notes

Ideally, this should be served hot. But if you want to send it in an insulated lunch box, it will keep for about an hour.  

TIP: To prevent the chips from getting soggy, double fry them till crisp.  And keep the chilli mince very dry.
