K's Fried Rice
Not that easy

For 4 Person(s)

  • 3 cups Long grain rice, cooked
  • 1 Medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Carrot, grated
  • 250 g Cabbage, finely chopped
  • 250 g French beans, finely chopped
  • 1 sprig Celery, finely chopped
  • 1 Green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ma's minced garlic
  • 1 Ma's Chicken Stock cube
  • 0.5 cup Water for stock
  • 500 g Boneless chicken, diced
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil

  1. Heat the wok before you add the oil in to start cooking
  2. Add onions and garlic and cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Then add the french beans and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add carrots, cook for another 2 minutes
  5. Add cabbage and chicken stock and simmer till this mixture has very little stock left in it.
  6. In the meantime, brown the boneless chicken in a saucepan with the sesame oil.
  7. Brown on both sides, but don't overcook as that will make the chicken dry.
  8. By now the vegetable mixture should have cooked. Add the green bell pepper and chicken and cook another 2 minutes.
  9. Finally add rice, salt and pepper, mix well and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, till the flavour of vegetables has been absorbed by the rice.
