Homemade Pizza
Not that easy

Experiment with different sausages from Crescent Hurry Up for more flavour. While we love homemade pizza bases we do sometimes cheat by using Paan Paan pizza bases.

For 4 Person(s)

For the dough

  • 2 cup(s) flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup water, warm
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or any vegetable oil of choice)

For the pizza sauce

  • 0.3 cup(s) tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic - optional
  • 1 tsp chopped onion - optional
  • Pepper to taste

For the topping - optional

  • bell peppers
  • Crescent sausages, thinly sliced
  • mozarrella, shredded

    Prepare the dough:
  1. Add the yeast and sugar to the warm water, give it a slight mix and set aside for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, olive oil and the yeast mixture and start kneading. Knead the dough until nice and smooth. (about 5 minutes in a standing mixture and 8- 10 minutes by hand)
  3. Grease a baking tray with some oil and set aside.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and form them into balls. Place these balls on the baking tray with distance in between them and brush the tops with a little more oil
  5. Cover the tray well with some plastic wrap and keep it in a nice warm place until the balls double in size.
  6. Once risen, using your hands or a rolling pin, roll out each ball of dough into a circle of about 6 inches or so in diameter. You could make the circle (crust) thinner or a little thicker as per your liking. Score a light border along the edges of the circle with your fingers.
  7. Bake the pizza crusts in a preheated oven for 5 minutes until it’s just cooked. Let cool.
  8. Pizza sauce
  9. Mix all the ingredients of the sauce together until well combined. (Remember you could always use any pizza sauce of your choice)
  10. Assembling the pizza:
  11. Top the pre-baked pizzas with the toppings. I have done pizza sauce, grated mozzarella, bell peppers and sausages.
  12. Sprinkle some salt and/or chili flakes on top (optional)

Recipe notes

Freezing Tips:

Put each assembled pizza into individual Ziploc bags and close tightly. Stack them and put it in the freezer. This will last well for up to 3 weeks.

When ready to bake:

Simply remove from freezer and pop straight on to a baking tray and into a pre heated oven at 450 degrees and bake until the cheese has melted, and the crust gets golden brown and crispy. (Approx. 10 minutes)

A homemade frozen meal ready for anytime at your convenience! Enjoy!
