Indonesian Mie Goreng

  • 1 portion egg noodles, boiled and rinsed
  • 100 g chicken breast or shrimp, chopped
  • 2 long stick(s) celery, chopped
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 2 fresh green chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp sweet soy sauce
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Blended Spices

  • 5 Cashew nuts
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 5 small onions
  • 1 tsp dry kooni


  1. Heat some oil in a pan and add whisked eggs to make a scrambled egg. Remove from pan and keep aside.
  2. Blend spices in Blended spices section and saute them in the same pan till the aroma is released
  3. Add meat and toss it with the rest of the ingredients and sauces.
  4. Serve with the fresh noodles and garnish with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Recipe notes

  1. Krooni is tiny dried shrimp
  2. Cashew nuts are used in place of Candkenuts which are not available in Sri Lanka
